Today (despite its pre-Christian origin), the Celtic cross is one of the forms of the cross accepted by the Catholic Church as a symbol of Christians. This form is popular especially in countries with Celtic roots - Ireland and Scotland.

In Ireland, a popular legend has it that this symbol was used by
st. Patrick's Day while converting the Gentiles. It is believed that the symbol of Christianity and the so-called solar circle,
so as to make future pagan devotees aware of the importance of the cross itself. Other interpretations say that the then placing of the cross
against the background of the circle it was supposed to represent the Christian domination over the pagan sun and that is why the crosses placed as signposts were in fact
marked the next areas of Christianization.
Some of them have runic inscriptions on them and are often decorated with so-called Celtic braid.
Celtic shamans wore this amulet to make contact with another mysterious world and to be able to travel safely between that world and our real world.
